I am very excited and honored to serve as the 21st president of The Broward County Hispanic Bar.I am humbled and ready to lead this esteemed organization and do so as a true testament to diversity. My election is proof positive that the Hispanic community is constantly evolving in this new decade of this 21st century. Our membership continues to represent a kaleidoscope of many Hispanic cultures and traditions coming together to benefit not only our legal community, but our local communities as a whole. Our diversity will continue to be our greatest asset as an organization. We will continue to embrace our collective Hispanic heritage and experiences and, more importantly, are empowered by them. Our Hispanic heritage is as rich, varied and diverse as each member of the Broward County Hispanic Bar. We will continue to seek to promote diversity among the judiciary and other state and local elected offices.Despite having a majority-minority within Broward County, Hispanics are still under- represented among elected officials. Our goals will include efforts to encourage Hispanic voters to become involved in the political process; to empower and energize them to vote; to help them understand the significance of their participation in the political process;and how their involvement can positively impact our community. The Broward County Hispanic Bar will continue to be an organization of committed civic-minded professionals making a real difference in the lives of those within Broward County - both Hispanic and Non- Hispanic alike. We will continue in our worthy endeavors including adopting families again for the holidays with the "Neighbors 4 Neighbors" program and assisting immigrants with legal services through our affiliation with pro bono clinics. We will continue to provide educational and informative luncheons on "hot button" issues that affect us all as citizens of Broward County.Together we can make a difference; WILL YOU PLEASE JOIN ME? |
